LA CALLE Y YO (THE STREET AND ME)
Street photography has been an extraordinary discovery for my personal development. After a long time exploring various photographic genres, I realized that my photographs consistently sought human presence, both directly and indirectly. Then, I decided that I could grow, experiment, and innovate by using the resource I had most readily available: the street.
Thus, inspired by Garry Winogrand’s works, I set out to find the people, the light, the architecture, and the moments, enjoying the “found” photography, the beauty of the unforeseen, and the reaction to the ephemeral.
Hundreds of hours and kilometers have opened my eyes, challenging and daring me to explore even more.
In developing the images, I use combinations of light, shadow, and tone to create an unreal quality that emphasizes the uniqueness of each moment.
My presence is subtly captured. Over time, I have observed that whenever I have the opportunity, I create a selection of moments in which that subtle presence emerges. My reflections, silhouettes, and shadows become static elements of the street, merging me with my initial composition.
