Photographer Henry Cartier-Bresson had a muse: Paris.
Born on August 22, 1908, near Paris, he was passionate about painting. However, it was in the Ivory Coast in 1932 that he discovered the Leica camera, which soon became an extension of his hand. With it, he developed the concept of “the decisive moment,” that brief instant, that precise point in time when something occurs that will never happen again.
He was drawn to people and streets, to puddles and love. He had a passion for photographing children, women, families, and emotion itself. He was the founder of Magnum Agency.
