Dear Pomme, [from letters to an imaginary friend]

Between writing and taking self-portraits in the summer family home in the mountains, I pen letters to my grandmother, who is facing terminal illness in another part of the world. The days
pass, and nature becomes a part of me. The river whispers truths into my ear, and among the flowers and fruit trees, I uncover parts of myself that had been hidden away somewhere.

At night, my grandmother appears in my dreams, and I share with her the secrets I never had the courage to tell. A SEARCH FOR WHO I AM, MY BODY AS A SINCERE AND NATURAL PRESENCE, AND MY GRANDMOTHER AS MY GREAT IMAGINARY FRIEND.
