To interpret an image, we must understand the culture that supports it, the historical moment to which it belongs, and the encompassing impact of personal beliefs. An image does not mean the same thing to everyone because its interpretation can vary across different historical periods and cultures.

Photography speaks to our aspirations and challenges, offering a unique perspective on life. When we choose to present an image, we make many decisions: location, space, framing, composition, camera type, editing, selection, and development. All these decisions inevitably define us.

Images tell the story of our bodies, lives, hobbies, experiences, and projects. Today, photographic expression is an effective tool for understanding both your environment and yourself. It is a way to share your authenticity and truth with the world. When we capture and share an image, we are not merely depicting what we see; we are creating an image that reflects our entire being.

Photography is a tool that clearly, intimately, and accurately establishes connections with our authenticity.

We think in images, and these images remind us of past experiences, allowing us to recognize the joy or impact of those moments. However, when we take a photograph, we are fully present, paying attention to the here and now as we press the shutter.

In this workshop experience, we will learn how photography involves an encounter with our intimate and personal space. We will focus on being present, recognizing our own lives, enjoying the creative process, and drawing inspiration from contemporary artists and works that have inspired and transformed the world.

Music, images, psychology, and our own photographic expression will be among our tools. We will use our lifestyle, our bodies, and our most valuable possession: our own gaze.
