Artistic expression in childhood supports and fosters the process of growth and maturation. To achieve this, the way children express themselves must be playful and free. Although he was referring to painting, Arno Stern pointed out that: \u201cThe child aspires to become an adult and develops in that direction. However, childhood is an important part of human life. It is not a temporary state. What a child feels, experiences, and expresses is important and has enduring value.\u201d<\/em> <\/span><\/p>\n

Through photography, both children and adults can express their inner world, recognise their capacity to imagine and create, and use non-verbal images to communicate and reveal what is within. In a collaborative and respectful way, within a safe and supportive environment, by recognising and creating their own images, children can develop a sense of confidence, courage, and self-belief.<\/span><\/p>\n

On 9 December 2016, we launched the Creative Photography for Beginners workshop. The workshop was part of the activities organised by the Ruzafa Loves Kids platform in the Ruzafa neighbourhood of Valencia, and we had the privilege of holding it in one of the most beautiful spaces in the area, La Boulanger\u00ede. <\/span><\/p>\n

As adults, we accompanied this group of brave children who shared their ways of seeing and their worlds with us. We responded to their needs, their questions, and their endless bursts of energy, but above all, we were amazed by their ability to see and create. Future artists photographing a beautiful world.<\/span><\/p>\n
