Additionally, through these awards, ANDANAfoto promotes the public visibility of award-winning projects and artists by disseminating the work and publishing the book catalog “Photography To Get To Know Yourself.”<\/p>\n

Established are five prizes of USD 200.<\/p>\n

Registration is open to anyone who has participated in ANDANAfoto pieces of training.<\/p>\n

2. PARTICIPATION REQUIREMENTS<\/strong><\/span><\/p>\n

Participation is open to professional and non-professional photographers of any nationality.<\/span><\/p>\n

  1. To be of legal age in your country.<\/span><\/li>\n
  2. To have participated or is currently participating in one of the ANDANAfoto trainings, online or in person, as of 15 January 2024. If you have yet to participate in any training, you can register until the same day for one of our trainings.<\/span><\/li>\n
  3. Should have yet to receive a prize in another contest.<\/span><\/li>\n
  4. Each participant may submit only one project.<\/span><\/li>\n<\/ol>\n

    The Jury will only evaluate the work of participants who meet all the participation requirements.<\/span><\/p>\n

    3. REGISTRATION AND SUBMISSION<\/strong><\/span><\/p>\n

    Registration and submission of projects are only accepted by filling out the form enabled for this purpose on andanafoto.com; you can access it from the button at the bottom of this page.

    Each participant may submit a project with a minimum of 10 photographs and a maximum of 15.<\/span><\/p>\n

    The project and photographs presented will be original and should have yet to receive a prize in another contest.

    Contestants certify the authorship of their work and take full responsibility for ensuring that there are no third-party rights or any claim for image rights of the work presented, exempting the Organization from any responsibility.<\/span><\/p>\n

    To participate, completing all fields of the REGISTRATION FORM is required.
    \n<\/span><\/p>\n

     <\/p>\n

    Submission of the project is to be made through an anonymous dossier<\/strong> (in PDF format) with the following information:<\/span><\/p>\n

      \n
    1. Explanatory text of the photographic project presented, with a minimum of 200 words and a maximum of 600 words.<\/span><\/li>\n
    2. The images of the submitted project (minimum of ten and maximum of 15).<\/span><\/li>\n
    3. Only the title of the proposed project must appear on the cover of the dossier.<\/span><\/li>\n<\/ol>\n

       <\/p>\n

      After sending the registration form, a message will display indicating that the process has been completed successfully. You will also receive an email that will serve as proof of presentation and confirmation of your participation.<\/span><\/p>\n

      If you do not receive this email, please email info@andanafoto.com to confirm we have received all documentation and obtain proof of participation.<\/span><\/p>\n

      The photographs and the documentation presented may not contain any identifying information of the authorship, and non-compliance will be considered grounds for exclusion from this contest.<\/span><\/p>\n

      The deadline for submitting photographs is January 15, 2024; the time zone of each participant will be considered.

      4. <\/strong><\/span>PRIZES<\/strong><\/span><\/p>\n

      Five prizes of USD 200 will be awarded along with a hard copy of the book “Photography To Get To Know Yourself” (shipping costs included.)<\/strong><\/span><\/p>\n

      The prizes will be subject to the current tax legislation of each country, applying legally established withholdings if necessary.<\/span><\/p>\n

      It constitutes three prestigious national and international professionals whose decisions will be final.

      Carlota Visier (Cuenca, 1993) is a language and literature teacher, as well as an editor.<\/span><\/span><\/p>\n

      She graduated in Spanish Language and Literature from the Complutense University of Madrid with a Master in Hispanic-American Literature (UCM) and Teacher Training (UCM). She has worked as a counselor and held teaching workshops in the WIP program of Universidades Norteamericanas Reunidas (UCM).<\/span><\/span><\/p>\n

      She has also worked as a Conversation Assistant in Glasgow and as a storyteller for The Wee Spanish Mobile Library. She has been a Youth Jury member at the 61st and 62nd San Sebasti\u00e1n Film Festival editions.<\/span><\/span><\/p>\n

      She combines teaching with editorial work at Comisura, where she serves as editor. She has curated the exhibition Querida Theresa at the Lens School of Photography. She has been a speaker at several conferences on the topics that interest her most: the hybridization between image and literature from the body, monstrosity, or marginal characters. As a result of her concerns and training, she holds workshops related to literature and the activation of the photographic archive. Since 2021, she has been the editor of the “This Is A Body” project and is responsible for writing and communication.<\/span><\/span><\/p>\n

      Doctor in Fine Arts from the Complutense University of Madrid and Graduate in Art History with a Master of Professional Photography at EFTI during the course (1995-1996).<\/span><\/span><\/p>\n

      Since 2014, he has been a teacher at the Complutense University of Madrid (UCM), currently working in the Drawing II department teaching Masters and Degree subjects related to photography and digital technologies. This current academic year, he began the coordination of the Master in Research in Art and Creation (MIAC) at the UCM and has been a teacher for seven years at the Francisco de Vitoria University UFV (Photography, Audiovisual Production, Audiovisual Design and Interaction I and II Degrees of Design and BBAA) and two years at ESNE (Photography in the Degree of Design).<\/span><\/span><\/p>\n

      A regular collaborator in teaching innovation projects, his lines of research focus on the use of technology in various contemporary artistic manifestations, highlighting the change produced in photography in its transition from the photochemical to the digital process.<\/span><\/span><\/p>\n

      Since 1996, he has collaborated as a photographer with various architecture studios, publishing in several architecture magazines and accompanying the MTM Arquitectos studio as a guest artist at the VIII Venice Biennale of Architecture.

      Ph.D. in Interdisciplinary Studies, Humanities and Society (2013). Her doctoral study was a collaboration with the National Migrant and Seasonal Head Start Association (NMHSA) and focused on the transnational family narratives of migrant families in New York. She is a humanities and education professor for Florida State University Panam\u00e1 and a professor of education for Calumet College of St. Joseph near Chicago. She has graduate degrees and licenses in counseling (1996) and education (2000).<\/span><\/span><\/p>\n

      Kezia is passionate about the power of images and stories to bridge divides and for personal and community transformation. Since 2020 Kezia has been a Research and Education consultant for the nonprofit A Picture\u2019s Worth (APW). APW partners with communities to focus on strengths-based narratives that challenge stereotypes. Kezia is the co-lead for a new community initiative with the Data for Equity Funding Collaborative. She is also assisting with a refugee-centered community project which will be featured in the 2024 FotoFocus Biennial: backstories in Cincinnati, Ohio.
      \n<\/span><\/span><\/p>\n

      Kezia loves to connect images with words. During her time in NYC (1997-2014) she explored art and photography with The Arts Student League and the School of Visual Arts. She is an alum of the Firefly Institute Photo Camp (Sonoma, 2019). She discovered ANDANAfoto in 2020, as well as Pibe Escuela de Fotograf\u00eda in Panam\u00e1 (Pich Urdaneta). She participated in ANDANAfoto\u2019s \u201cFotograf\u00eda Para Conocerte\u201d (2020) and \u201cVer y Revelar\u201d retreat (2022).<\/span><\/span><\/p>\n

      Each participant will receive information on the result via the enrolled email, and the awarded projects will be published on the ANDANAfoto.com website and social networks.<\/span><\/p>\n

      7. THE BOOK<\/strong><\/span><\/p>\n

      The book “Photography To Get To Know Yourself” from the III ANDANAfoto Photography Contest Awards will include all the winning projects, the texts contributed to each of them, and other texts related to photography as a tool for personal development.<\/span><\/p>\n

      It will be coordinated and designed by Laura C. Vela, director of the “This Is A Body” project and co-founder of the independent photography and literature publisher Comisura.
      \n<\/span><\/p>\n

        In the two days following the communication of the jury’s decision, the winners must send the photographs in digital format for incorporation into the book-catalog. (300pp and minimum short side 17cm).<\/span><\/p>\n

        9. ACCEPTANCE OF THE RULES<\/strong><\/span><\/p>\n

         <\/p>\n

        Participation in this contest implies full acceptance of each rule, the Jury’s unappealable decision, and the explicit waiver of any subsequent claim.<\/span><\/p>\n

        The organizing entity may use the winning project in the creation of the book catalog “Photography To Get To Know Yourself” and the dissemination in the different activities related to this or subsequent contests. This transfer of non-exclusive rights implies that ANDANAfoto will have the right to reproduce and display the photographs of the winning projects, without limit in time or place, in any means or publication, always mentioning the author.<\/span><\/p>\n

        The Organization is empowered to resolve any contingency not provided for in these rules without any claim regarding its decisions.<\/span><\/p>\n
